Record Keeping (Trip Ticket System)
Clinical waste producer must keep records of clinical wasted collected by waste collectors or delivered to an authorised collection point/licensed disposal facility, and to keep such records for 12 months after the date of collection, for inspection upon request by the Director of Environmental Protection. Failure to produce trip ticket or disposal record may result to a penalty of up to HK$100,000 under the new legislation
Authorized clinical waste collectors and licensed clinical waste disposal facilities are required to fill in a trip ticket showing the name, location and other details of the clinical waste for each consignment of clinical waste from producers. Waste collectors have to provide a copy of the trip ticket to the waste producers for record keeping. Waste producers must cross check the data on the trip ticket returned to them by waste collectors.
